“The curious paradox is when I accept myself as I am, then I can change”
~ Carl Rogers
Counselling offers the opportunity to address and explore issues that may be affecting you in your life, preventing you from living fully. Taking the time out to talk in confidence, and to be received as you are without judgement can be a hugely transformative experience. Counselling can support you to gain insight in to aspects of your life you may be struggling with, facilitating self-awareness and the space for change to occur.
As a person centred counsellor my approach is geared around supporting you to find the answers to the challenges you face, believing inherently that only you know what is right for you! Through our sessions I offer the opportunity to experience a meaningful relationship, one built on trust, warmth and genuine acceptance. I bring to my practise many years of body based practise and mindfulness and strongly believe that the capacity for healing is inherent in us all if we are willing to listen deeply to our bodies.
I work with both adults and adolescents and have experience working with a range of issues including:
- Loss and bereavement
- Relationship issues
- Divorce
- Anger
- Depression and anxiety
- Adoption and the care system
- Stress
- Life changes
- Abuse
- Sexuality issues
- Body based issues
About Me
For the past ten years I have combined my work in social care (Adoption Services) with the role of tutor in an FE setting. I am also a practising visual artist and combine my passion for the creative and the therapeutic in this way. I also have a deep interest in earth based issues alongside cultivating new ways to bring more presence to my life.
I hold a Diploma in Person Centred counselling and as a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I follow an ethical framework for good practice. I bring a professional, committed and open approach to my work creating a safe space to explore concerns or issues. Alongside my private practice I work as a counsellor at Cotswold Counselling in Cirencester and St Peter’s High School in Gloucester.
I receive professional supervision and attend training courses to enhance and support my practise.

Sessions
I offer daytime and evening sessions on different days in the week. Counselling sessions are on a weekly basis.
Where will we meet?
I have a designated counselling room in my house in Stroud where I see clients. The space is quiet and self contained. The room is a short walk from town with free parking nearby.
I also offer phone and Skype sessions if you are unable to meet face to face, similarly I may be able to meet with you in your own home if your ability to leave the house is restricted.
How long is each session?
The initial free telephone consultation is up to 30 minutes. Each counselling session is 50 minutes.
How much will it cost?
The initial telephone consultation is free. Counselling sessions are £40. I offer a limited number of reduced sessions for low income earners and students.
What if I have to cancel an appointment?
If you cancel a session, with less than a week’s notice, you will be required to pay for this unless we can find a mutually convenient alternative time to meet that week. My intention is to offer the best balance between consistency and flexibility.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me via the contact form and I will be more than happy to discuss things through in more depth. www.space2b.org.uk
